When I first heard that 50 Cent, the famously rich rapper from the 2000s, was getting into the headphones market, I must admit I took it a bit with a grain of salt. His mentor, none other than Dr.Dre, was already all over the headphones market and making records sales with his Beats line, so why would anyone need some new rapper headphones to compete? Well, today as I get my hands on these Sync Wireless, I must say that 50 and SMS audio did bring a few new things to the table.
What I liked about the Sync Wireless by 50
First, I think the main enhancement that’s made by this series is the look – it’s bold and it’s fun to look at. It’s not the kind of headphones you would want to wear if you wish to discreetly listen to your music in the city without getting any looks, but I will say that the ones you will get will mostly be positive. I like the color selection on these wireless tv headphones a lot. You can get them in just about any theme from green to yellow, but the easiest to find will be the White, Black and Black/Silver models.
Then, what any tv fan like me will like is how clear the sound is without wires. You can listen to your shows while being as far as 50 feet from your television and you can also use it for other purposes like PC gaming, and music of course, which is still the primary focus of these headphones. If you like to have your pair nearby to listen to music with your TV through an app and that the quality of the sound is important to you, the Sync will be great.
I also liked the controls on these headphones. Everything can be taken care of from the ear cups, which obviously makes them great to watch a movie for example. I like the volume to be exactly at the level I want when I watch an action movie, often making adjustments in between the action and dialogue scenes, and the Sync allowed me to do that perfectly.
What I didn’t like about Sync Wireless by 50
What I didn’t like about the Sync by 50 is perhaps the lack of innovation compared to other models. The Sync concept for up to 4 users is great, but I don’t see these headphones having a particular selling argument going for them, considering that they still sell at an enormous price just like the Beats. The Beats have that trend thing going for them and I’m sure 50 is hoping for the same thing with the Sync, but at the end of the day I would like to see new products on the market that try to change the game so to speak.
Does Sync Wireless by 50 work?
The Sync Wireless by 50 do work in everything they try to do. Just like 50’s character, the headphones are bold and are an alternative to those of Dr.Dre, who look more discrete and trendy in a way. If the goal was to provide an alternative in style, the goal has certainly been achieved, but if the objective was to make a big splash in the industry, I’m not sure these are enough to justify the hype.
The best place to buy Sync Wireless by 50?
The easiest way to buy the Sync Wireless by 50 is certainly online, either through stores like Amazon or on the official SMS by 50 website.
In the end, I think I would choose the Sync as my wireless tv headphones any day over the Beats. I found them enjoyable to use and they look incredibly cool in the new modern living room I’ve put together. Style-wise, I wouldn’t change them for anything in the world. If TV is also your main activity, you can go ahead and buy these and I don’t think you will be disappointed, if you agree with the $230 price that is.Click Here to See Price, Customer Ratings, and Reviews from Amazon
